Welcome
If you’re looking for support through life’s transitions, challenges, or simply need a compassionate space to talk; you have found it. I have a deep respect for the resilience you carry, even when you are struggling and offer you counselling that is warm and skilled to support as you heal, grow and change.
Clients
I work with adults at all stages of life, from early adulthood, to retirement and beyond. I worked with families in the childbearing years, with role and relationship changes, parenting challenges and reproductive health journeys and loss. I am keenly aware of the stresses of working in the healthcare and first responder systems were trauma, fatigue, moral injury and stress are common. Safe, confidential support can help you as you work toward more balance and wellness.
Approach
Most of the work I do is in an Integrated psychotherapy model, weaving elements of narrative, somatic, bilateral stimulation, parts work. To support those who have survived traumatic experiences, you may choose to work with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) or ITATM (Integrative Trauma and Attachment Treatment Model). These techniques offer research based, effective support to help your recovery, to calm your fears, hurt and rage.
Thank you!

Personal experience teaches me that healing is messy. I feel privileged to share skills as a Somatic Experiencing practitioner, grief facilitator, funeral celebrant, and licensed funeral director. But first and foremost I want to be a human with you.

Welcome!
I am a registered social worker, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner® and Tao of Trauma & Co-regulating Touch/Table Work Practitioner, located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
I draw from my curiosity and compassion to hold space, explore, and co-create healing conversations with body and mind. I work with experiences folks have had around developmental, pre- and perinatal, relational, and complex traumas including stress; grief & loss; anxiety and depression; difficult life transitions; and challenging relationships.
Together, we will explore: turning inward, establishing a sense of safety, slowing down to listen to the body, co-regulation and settling of the nervous system; listening compassionately to emotions; connecting with inner wisdom and the innate capacity we have for healing; deepening relationships; finding more of “ourselves”; and, reconnecting to life energy, playfulness, and joy.
I have training in attachment theory, human development, complex and developmental trauma, the neurophysiology of trauma, and healing through somatic touch and table work. I integrate Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems-Informed (IFSCA) and Attachment-focused principles to invite a compassionate, strengths-based, & resilience-promoting perspective to the folks with whom I share space.
I also offer co-regulating touch / table work – a holistic body/mind method that addresses ways in which emotional pain and stress are held in our bodies, supporting people to find nervous system settling and coherence. I have completed trainings in somatic touch skills and developmental trauma with Alaine Duncan, Kathy Kain, and Steve Terrell.
I offer a no-obligation 15 minute video consult for us to meet together, discuss your interest in my work, explore whether we are a good match in working to meet your goals, and possible next steps.
To those of you pursuing SEP training, I am qualified to offer Personal Sessions at all levels (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced).
If you are interested in working with me, I invite you to email me directly at mysacounselling@gmail.com.

Welcome, I’m glad you’ve found your way here.
I offer a body-led approach that focuses on the nervous system and its organic rhythms, rather than working with the story alone. Together, we gently track sensations, emotions, and impulses, supporting the body in completing stress responses that may have been interrupted in the past, and are often at the root of pain, tension, and persistent patterns of dysregulation in the present. Together, we gently track sensations, emotions, and impulses, supporting the body in completing stress responses that may have been interrupted in the past, and are often at the root of pain, tension, and persistent patterns of dysregulation in the present.
Sessions combine dialogue-based exploration with therapeutic touch, creating opportunities for greater regulation, resilience, trust, and connection within the nervous system. Acupuncture can also be woven into our work when appropriate, offering additional regulation support through the soft tissues and energy systems.
This approach honours the wisdom of the body and creates space for healing to unfold at a pace that feels supportive and sustainable. We also work with restoring access to joy and play, inviting these vital qualities back into the landscape of healing.
My professional foundation is rooted in trauma-informed yoga therapy, Somatic Experiencing®, registered massage therapy (RMT), and acupuncture. I’m grateful to have traversed these educational realms, as they’ve shaped my understanding of body physiology and the body’s capacity for healing.
Sessions that include a touch component can be billed through your insurance (if applicable) under RMT/Massage. You are always welcome to opt out of the touch component of our work together. Please note that if we are only doing dialogue work with no touch component, sessions cannot be claimed through benefits/insurance. Additionally online sessions cannot be billed through insurance
For 1x1 sessions, I invite you to book a free 15 minute discovery call so we can get to know each other before diving in. I look forward to working together!
